Honda is recalling 748,000 2009-’13 Honda Pilots and 2011-’13 Honda Odysseys in the U.S. because of an airbag problem<\/h1>\n

\"2009_Honda_Pilot_Front\"<\/a>TORRANCE, California \u2014 Honda is recalling 748,000 2009-’13 Honda Pilots and 2011-’13 Honda Odysseys in the U.S. because of an airbag problem, the automaker announced on Friday.<\/p>\n

The driver-side airbags in the affected vehicles may have missing rivets.<\/p>\n

“Driver-side airbags in these vehicles potentially were assembled without some of the rivets that secure the airbag’s plastic cover,” said Honda in a statement posted on its Web site. “If the rivets are missing, the airbag may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.”<\/p>\n

Honda said no crashes or injuries have been reported related to the recall.<\/p>\n

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle recalls in the U.S., had not posted any information about this latest Honda recall on its Web site as of Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Honda dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver-side airbag.<\/p>\n

The recall is expected to begin in mid-February. Owners can contact Honda at (800) 999-1009<\/p>\n
